DRA-PWA hosting volunteer fair April 3
Have you ever wanted to get involved with a community-focused organization but not known where to start? Or perhaps you wished your career got you outside more and you want to find out about meaningful volunteer work in the outdoors.
On April 3, from 5 to 7 p.m., Damariscotta River Association/Pemaquid Watershed Association (DRA-PWA) is hosting a volunteer fair at the Congregational Church of Bristol in Bristol Mills. This will be an opportunity for potential new volunteers to learn about DRA-PWA volunteer needs and how to get involved. This will also be a chance for existing volunteers and prospective volunteers to mingle and learn about the many different volunteer opportunities available and what most closely aligns with their skills and interests.
DRA-PWA depends on volunteers for a number of citizen science initiatives, to create and maintain trails, assist with its far-reaching nature-education programs, and much more.
The event will start with a brief slideshow presentation, followed by a chance to talk to current volunteers and staff about the particular roles. Volunteer jobs include environmental monitoring projects, trail maintenance, assisting with education programs, and helping with the Community Ice Rink.
The event is free of charge and pizza will be provided. To learn more or to register, go to damariscottariver.org/events. If you are unable to attend the event but are interested in learning more about DRA-PWA volunteer opportunities please visit the website or contact DRA-PWA for a volunteer application form and a staff person will get in touch with you.
