As Edgecomb approaches its 250th year, selectmen are taking stock and looking down the road. What is going well? What key issues face the town’s government in the next 5-10 years?

The board is asking residents for ideas about long-range planning topics. All town residents are invited to a discussion with the board on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Edgecomb Eddy School. Coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m. The meeting starts at 10 a.m.

The goal is to help the board develop a proactive plan that will help provide continuity, effective and responsive governance, and maximum use of personnel and assets to manage town operations. For example, what are the potential advantages of more administrative personnel, such as an administrative assistant? How might added administrative personnel impact departments and operations? What are some ideas for improving the town hall, making it user-friendlier for employees and residents?

Edgecomb residents are encouraged to attend this meeting, share their ideas and impact the long-range planning for the town’s future.
