Edgecomb Shop Crawl July 27
Edgecomb’s 250th Birthday Committee has arranged a self-guided Shop Crawl to celebrate Edgecomb’s creative artisans and the extraordinary handcrafted work they produce.
On Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., the public is invited to visit Open Houses at selected shops and artisans’ studios—each showcasing exceptional handcrafted work that is produced onsite.
Armed with a map (see below) of participating studios, a sense of curiosity, and an interest in the process of creating beautiful artifacts by hand, you can find your way from shop to shop. The tour will take you to an old church that has been converted to a custom wood-working studio. Then you can visit a sawmill and learn about the process of milling tree trunks and preparing them to make beautiful one-of-kind items. Two different furniture designers/builders will showcase exquisite, handcrafted traditional and contemporary pieces. A visit to a rigging loft will delight you with intricate rigging and knot work, including custom made hand-tied twisted silver jewelry. And a charming fashion and gifts boutique displays handmade, one-of-kind pieces designed in its onsite fashion studio.
Prepare to be delighted, amazed, and inspired! To join Edgecomb’s self-guided Shop Tour on July 27, download a map of the participating shops and studios or scan the QR code. Copies of the map will also be available at the Edgecomb Post Office.
