Edgecomb students release Atlantic salmon eggs into river

These Edgecomb Eddy School sixth graders releases Atlantic salmon eggs into the Sheepscot River on May 17 as part of a unit learning about the species’ life cycle. Mrs. Currier’s class at Edgecomb Eddy School released Atlantic salmon eggs into the Sheepscot River on May 17. The class is learning about raising the endangered species from an egg to maturity.
The fish eggs arrived at the school in February. As part of the unit, the students cared for the eggs in a glass tank. The lesson teaches about the Atlantic salmon’s life cycle, survival statistics, predators, and how water pollution effects the species.
