The Edgecomb Town Democratic Committee will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Edgecomb Town Hall.

The agenda includes choosing a 2014 Democratic candidate from the newly formed Maine House District 89 to succeed Bruce MacDonald, who is termed out. State convention delegation candidates will also be discussed.

Committee co-chairman Jarryl Larson said that several local high school students have expressed interest in this meeting and the upcoming elections.

We are very interested in what platform items matter the most to our young students.

We encouraged any student interested in making a difference in the political community to join us. We have plenty for everyone to do in the coming year. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
