Election Day opens in Wiscasset
As of shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday, several ballots had been cast in Wiscasset. Polls are open at Wiscasset Community Center on Gardiner Road until 8 p.m.
Residents are deciding the selectman’s seat that Bill Barnes left early. Roland Abbott, Judith Colby and David Flynn are in a three-way race for the seat, the only local election today.
All other items Wiscasset voters face are on the state ballot.
About 110 absentee ballots have been turned in, which is a somewhat low number, Town Clerk Linda Perry said at the polls, located inside the community center’s senior center.
