Evelyn “Evie” Turner, 82, of San Antonio, Texas, and East Boothbay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Feb. 26, 2023.

Evie was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania to Robert and Laura Cox on Nov. 17, 1940. She went to high school at Wellsboro-Charleston Jr/Senior High School and graduated in 1958. She went on to earn a degree in English from Wooster College. She enjoyed gardening and quilting and was an active member in her church. The thing she enjoyed most, however, was time spent with her family.

Evie is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Mascorro and husband Dave, of San Antonio, Texas; son Richard (Rick) Turner and wife Alesa (Lesa) of Seattle, Washington; son Douglas (Doug) Turner and wife Julie of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; grandson Joshua (Josh) Mascorro of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter Hannah Mascorro of Columbus, Ohio; grandson Matthew (Matt) Mascorro of San Antonio, Texas; grandson Ryan Turner of Campbell, California; and granddaughter Allison (Allie) Turner of Seattle, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Turner.

Evie was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Wilson Memorial Chapel, July 22, 2023 at 11:30 a.m.
