The evolving world of photography
Robert Mitchell, well-known Midcoast photographer, naturalist and author, will speak at the Boothbay Region Historical Society Friday, April 5, from noon to 1 p.m.
Mitchell will be the guest of the BRHS Brown Bag Forum, an informal and always lively gathering. His presentation, “Evolving Photography and My Photos,” is free and open to the public, and will be held at the historical society museum at 72 Oak Street in Boothbay Harbor.
Mitchell lives on Southport Island and has been a noted photographer, in both color and black and white format, for more than 30 years. His photos are widely valued for capturing the essential personality of Midcoast life and events.
Mitchell's work has appeared in the Boothbay Register, in his own books and in the books of prominent personalities such as the late newscaster, Charles Kuralt. He also is well-known for his work found in calendars, and in his always popular postcard series.
