Explore England, Ireland and Wales this spring
Wiscasset Adult & Community Education is coordinating a small group excursion to the British Isles, April 24 to May 10, 2014. Only a few seats are available for this unique and unforgettable journey.
No tour buses on this adventure: our means of ground travel include ferries between islands, trains (standard and narrow gauge) and double-decker city buses.
We will be transported to see Morris dancers at a pagan May Day festival in Cornwall, Stonehenge and Jane Austen sites in the Bath region, mountainous Snowdonia National Park and green hills dotted with lambs in North Wales, the Guinness Storehouse and Wicklow Mountains of Ireland, and much more.
The pace is relaxed: two to three nights are spent in each of the five locations so there is time to experience much of each area. This trip is open to people of all levels of physical ability and financial means. There is plenty to do and experience on this excursion for everyone, including for many of us who are on a shoestring budget. Accommodation choices include canal boats, holiday cottage and apartment rentals, B&Bs and hostels. The package price for this 17 day/16 night tour is $3,400 per person (when sharing a room with another person), and $3,700 per person for single room occupancy.
Fourteen adults from Midcoast Maine are planning and gearing up together for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; only a few openings are left. For more information, visit www.maine-to-british-isles.blogspot.com, and contact us by calling 207-975-6176 or email vanessa@myadulted.com.
