Fall youth auditions at Heartwood
Heartwood Theater and Lincoln Academy will be joining together this fall, to produce two great, diverse youth productions.
“Center Stage ‘16” will be an evening of Broadway tunes, including a couple of big show production numbers. A top notch staff will include Beth Preston (vocal coach and music director), Griff Braley (director), Sean Fleming (accompanist) and new to Heartwood this year – choreographer Michelle Bruckner. Bruckner made her Broadway debut in “Chicago, the Musical” and has a strong Midcoast connection, having begun her career at the Carousel Music Theater in Boothbay Harbor. Www.Michellebruckner.com.
Auditions are open to all Midcoast students grades 7 thru 12, Sept. 1 at 2:30 p.m. in the Poe Theater. If you have questions or would like to audition over the summer, contact Beth Preston: preston@lincolnacademy.org.
The second production is “These Shining Lives,” a drama by American playwright, Melanie Marnich. This production has a medium size cast and a nice variety of roles: principal, secondary and ensemble.
Auditions for this show will be held Sept. 8, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy. Students in grades 7 through 12 may audition; casting preference will be given to high school students.
Students may participate in both productions and will be expected to help with technical elements, as well.
The Poe Theater is located at 81 Academy Hill Road in Newcastle.
