The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) announced today that it will award 16 $1,000 Scholarship Prizes to 16 NextGen® 529 plan accounts, randomly selecting one winner from each of the 16 counties of Maine. The Invest in ME Sweepstakes goes until October 31, 2017.

“For those who are thinking about opening or contributing to a NextGen College Investing Plan® account, the Invest in ME Sweepstakes and the potential of a $1,000 Scholarship Prize make this a great time to start. September is College Savings Month, and a great reminder that higher education should be something that all Mainers aspire to,” said Bruce Wagner, Chief Executive Officer at FAME.

FAME designed the $1,000 Invest in ME Sweepstakes to spark statewide momentum toward encouraging all Maine families to save for college and help to reduce student loan debt.

To enter the Invest in ME Sweepstakes:

• Open a NextGen account for the benefit of a legal resident of the state of Maine

OR

• Contribute to an existing NextGen account for the benefit of a legal resident of the state of Maine 

OR

• Complete and submit a sweepstakes entry form by mail or online at NextGenforME.com/entertowin

      Entries must be submitted between Aug. 1, 2017 and Oct. 31, 2017. See www.nextgenforme.com/entertowin/ for Sweepstakes details and Official Rules.  No purchase necessary to enter or win. A NextGen account would need to be opened to receive the scholarship prize. Void where prohibited by law.

This is the second year FAME has held the Invest in ME Sweepstakes. One NextGen account beneficiary from each of Maine’s 16 counties was awarded a $1,000 scholarship prize last year.
