Fay Christy in Boothbay March 16
The community is invited to hear singer-songwriter Fay Christy in concert this Saturday night, March 16, 6:30 p.m. at Boothbay Baptist Church, following a soup/chowder supper at 5:30 p.m.
Christy, of Boothbay Harbor, has recorded five CDs of her Christian music, the latest of which, “Song of the Dance,” was recently released and includes songs of praise in many genres, from folk to rock, all inspired by her faith. She has lent her voice and guitar to local events over the years such as the Fall Foliage Festival singing songs of the sea and popular ballads.
Through her nonprofit, Through the Fire Ministries, founded with her late husband Ray, Christy has long shared her faith through music and Bible study in prisons, churches, nursing homes, schools, on retreats and on the radio. Following the death of Ray last June, she is now transitioning to full-time ministry both here and abroad.
Christy has been an active missionary in Uganda with the Maine-based Hope Mercy Mission serving needs in remote Kabaale Village. She is also involved with the Hope Haitian Children’s Choir which will return this summer for its second Northeast American concert tour. Her travels have taken her to serve in Israel, Spain, Ireland and throughout the U.S. as well.
One of her primary ministries is here in Maine, leading worship and mentoring the hurting in state and county prisons. She is pursuing a degree in Biblical counseling as well as continuing to write and record music.
Come hear the latest Fay Christy songs and be uplifted!
There is no charge for the concert or the dinner but freewill offerings will be gratefully accepted.
