Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: Two arrests
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 314 calls for service for the period of Feb. 4 to Feb. 11. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 1,816 calls for service.
Arrests
Virgil W. Cameron-Cray, Jr., 33, of Waldoboro was arrested Feb. 5 on a Knox County warrant for Failure to Appear on an Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drug charge, on Gardiner Road, Jefferson, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
William Glaude, 43, of Waldoboro was arrested Feb. 5 on two warrants, one out of Knox County for Failure to Appear on a Contempt Hearing charge and a Lincoln County warrant for Failure to Appear on a Forestry charge, on Gardiner Road, Jefferson, by Sgt. Scott Hayden.
Accidents
On Feb. 4, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Jefferson involving Gardner V. Paetow, 31, of Coopers Mills. Mr. Paetow was operating his 2007 Subaru Legacy southbound when he lost control due to the snowy road conditions, crossed the centerline and went off the roadway to the left, where his vehicle came to rest on the top of a rock wall. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.
On Feb. 5, an accident occurred on River Road in Dresden involving Troy L. Trask, 53, of Augusta. Mr. Trask was operating his 2014 Toyota Corolla southbound when a deer ran out in front of him and was struck, causing driver’s side corner damage. Deputy Jeffrey Rogers was the investigating officer.
On Feb. 5, an accident occurred on Hollywood Blvd. in Whitefield involving Rose Waltz, 16, of Whitefield. Ms. Waltz was operating her 2020 Jeep Compass southbound on Hollywood Blvd. This road is a dirt road and was unsalted/unsanded and was covered in a sheet of ice on a corner. As a result, Ms. Waltz lost control on the corner and slid off the road to the right, entered the ditch and struck a tree. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
On Feb. 7, an accident occurred on Cross Road in Southport involving Ella Watts, 16, of Southport. Ms. Watts was operating her 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound when her front passenger tire encountered a small patch of ice on the side of the road. Ms. Watts panicked when the tire spun and over corrected. As a result, she lost control and went down into the ditch and struck a utility pole guide wire, causing damage to the front of her vehicle. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
