Forrest, Ineson and Miller at the Grill
Opening artists reception Sept. 13
A new exhibit to welcome fall opens Sept. 11 as part of the Art at The Damariscotta River Grill series. Virginia Forrest, Hannah Ineson and Kay Miller will exhibit works in a variety of mediums and subject matter.
An opening to meet the artists and sample delicious appetizers by Rick Hirsch and his staff will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 4-5:30 p.m. All artwork is for sale.
Virginia Forrest is a painter working in watercolor, gouache, acrylics and oil. Her paintings of Maine coastal scenes and landscapes often incorporate her passion for summer gardens, boats in the harbor, and laundry floating on the line.
Hannah Ineson paints both in oil and in watercolor, has worked in pastel, printmaking, and, most recently, in clay. The subject matter that dominates her paintings reflects the landscapes of coastal Maine and the wilderness of the Everglades. Her paintings reflect an artist’s response, rather than a desire to simply record data.
Printmaker Kay Miller, is inspired by nature. During early morning walks, she observes the changing seasons; plant life in spring with seeds and early flowers proceeding into fall and hibernation for winter. She collects plants that look interesting to make monoprints in her studio with her printing press.
Damariscotta River Grill is located at 155 Main St. Damariscotta. For more information about this show, contact Kim Traina at jumpstartcreative@gmail.com. d
