Fossel qualifies for Maine Senate ballot
Today, March 10, Les Fossel of Alna turned in the signatures for a place on the ballot as a candidate for Senate District 13 which covers most of Lincoln County, plus Windsor and Washington.
"I look forward to a discussion with the people of the district on how to make Maine’s future brighter than its past," said Fossel, a two-term representative. "Mainers deserve a legislature that will cooperate to make Maine’s prosperous, not fight on behalf of special interests over their share of a shrinking economic pie. It's time to get Maine to work. It’s time we elect senators who have proven they can create good jobs."
In 2012, Fossel came closer than any other Republican to defeating an incumbent Democratic senator. During his two terms in the House, Fossel served on Insurance and Financial Services, Health and Human Services, Government Oversight and the Judiciary Committees. As a member of the Government Oversight Committee, he was a leader in the successful corruption investigation of the Maine Turnpike Authority.
Fossel runs Restoration Resources, a Maine contracting firm with six employees. He also serves in the leadership of numerous community organizations.
