On Wednesday, Nov. 12, Les Fossel (R-Alna) requested a recount of ballots cast in the Nov. 4 Senate District 13 election, which was won by Sen. Chris Johnson (D-Somerville) by an unofficial margin of 339 votes.

On Thursday, Fossel withdrew that request.

In an email to supporters, Fossel said he had been asked to rescind the recount request by Senate republicans and had agreed to do so.
