Gallery remembers Jean Swan Gordon
For nearly 30 years, Gold/Smith Gallery has had the pleasure of exhibiting the wonderful paintings by Jean Swan Gordon. Her love of her subjects is obvious in her renditions. Each one is unique and always unforgettable. The single flaw we have found over the years, no one can seem to live with just one. Not a bad problem.
Her paintings are windows on the emerging seasons, a view of her gardens abundance, lovingly transformed with pen and ink and watercolors, always live bouquets, never photographs or from memory. They are a permanent recollection to share with everyone.
Jean died early this spring and left behind a legacy of her bouquets. Gold/Smith Gallery will be having a memorial reception for Jean at the gallery Friday, June 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. The show is as good as it gets and the reception is to honor her talent and her love for her subjects and her public. We hope everyone can come and share with us this special tribute to a very special lady.
The Gold/Smith Gallery is located at 41 Commercial Street, Boothbay Harbor (next to the Ebb Tide Restaurant). The gallery is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays noon to 5 p.m. Call 207-633-6252 for more information.
