Gary L. Brewer
Gary Lee Brewer, 73, of Boothbay passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 4, 2025 after a brave battle with cancer and his wife Linda by his side.
Gary was born Dec. 19, 1951 in Boothbay Harbor to the late Carl "Bo" Brewer and Carrie "Thompson" Brewer.
Gary graduated Boothbay Region High School with the class of 1971. He would go on to marry his high school sweetheart Linda Ann Lewis of Boothbay, and father two children, Jeremy and Angela.
Gary dedicated much of his life to the shipbuilding industry working for Bath Iron Works. There he was sent to many locations such as Alexandria, Egypt, Norfolk, Virginia, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where his wife Linda would often join him.
After Gary retired in 2016, they would continue to travel the country from Niagra Falls, to the Grand Canyon, to Las Vegas and many more locations. When they were done traveling, Gary picked up odd jobs around the community to stay busy. He wasn't one to stay idle.
Gary loved all sports, especially basketball. He loved watching his children play. He was a constant presence at every game. Gary loved to travel, gamble, ride motorcycles, golf, play cards with Mark and Kathy, sit around the fire pit, hunt, ride the roads up north with Ricky, stay at Daryl's camp and visit with Dennis and Marie. Gary has now joined his mother, his father and brothers Butch, Neil, and Wayne, and sister-in-law Mary Brewer whom he dearly missed.
Gary is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda Brewer of Boothbay; brother-in-law Gary Lewis of Boothbay Harbor; sister-in-law Mary Wood of Boothbay; sisters-in-law Robin Brewer and Simone Brewer; son Jeremy Brewer and significant other Stacey Reynolds; daughter Angela Brewer and significant other Paul Davis; grandsons Zachary Brewer and wife Tori Brewer, Kaeden Davis and significant other Kayla Latter; great-grandchildren Mackenzie Brewer, Mason Brewer and Kinsleigh Davis; as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 1 pm at the Charles E. Sherman Jr. American Legion Hall, 25 Industrial Park Road, Boothbay.
There will be a graveside service for Gary and family at a later date.
