Gary W. Joslyn Sr.
Gary W. Joslyn Sr. of Wiscasset, Maine passed away Oct. 8, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice Center surrounded by his loved ones. Gary passed unexpectedly due to a heart attack.
He was born in Lewiston, Maine on Sept. 24, 1954 to Louise M. Joslyn and Eldon G. Joslyn Sr.
Gary was a self-employed worm digger for 50 years and was a commercial diver for scallops and urchins when he was young. Gary loved being with friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR and the Patriots. He also loved his Yorkie (Charlie Brown). Gary was well known among his friends for his big heart and contagious smile and personality.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debbie K. Joslyn of Wiscasset, Maine; two sons, Gary W. Joslyn Jr. and Kevin W. Joslyn and his daughter Mindy F. Joslyn, all of Wiscasset, Maine. Gary had three grandchildren that he loved with all he had, Mikayla Moore, Shelby Moore and Ian Maney. He is also survived by his mother, four sisters, two brothers, and his mother-in-law. Louise M. Joslyn (mother), Gloria Giguere (sister) of Oakland, Maine; Sandy Lamontagne (sister) and her husband George of Windsor, Maine; Linda Cram (sister) and her husband Junior of Manchester, Maine; Rena Swift (sister) and her husband Carol of Jefferson, Maine; Eldon G. Joslyn Jr. (brother) and his wife Faye of Windsor, Maine; Jay Joslyn (brother) and his wife Diane of Augusta, Maine; and his mother-in-law Olive M. Austin of Freeport, Maine. Gary is also survived by lots of nieces and nephews from both sides.
He was predeceased by his father Eldon G. Joslyn Sr., his brother Steven A. Joslyn; and his father-in-law Owen P. Austin.
There will be a celebration of life at the Huntoon Hill Grange in Wiscasset, Maine on Oct. 28 from 2 to 5 p.m.
