Get out there!
Several weeks ago, John Merry, Wiscasset schools’ longtime maintenance and transportation director, sent us the school bus schedule and we recently ran it in the print edition. Look for it online this week also.
I remember being impressed to see the schedule as early as we did, but of course from that email I could not help but get that nagging, mid-summer feeling – you know it, or at least I do – that feeling summer is going to end!
June is recent enough and July seems like just last month. August is wonderful like they are, but in some respects more precious: Sure, summer remains until late September, and there are still plenty of wonderful times to be had – check out our Arts section and our Summertime page at wiscassetnewspaper.com and boothbayregister.com; but before we know it, those events and places will best be enjoyed with a sweater.
Even Tuesday morning’s breeze at press time had the slightest fall chill.
That, by the way, may be the only time you read “press time” and “breeze” in the same sentence.
Make the most of the rest of summer: Fun, productive, different – whatever you want it to be. Grab a sweater, our Dining Guide and Summertime and Home & Landscapes and Health & Wellness guides (they’re online, too!) and get out there.
Week’s positive parting thought: This is Maine, so better to bring a sweater, or sweatshirt, than to wish you had.
