Memories of a Maine summer. With all the snow we’ve received in the past 10 days, our publisher thought this photo he took last summer might give our readers some semblance of hope that, yes, summer is coming. Courtesy of A.R. Tandy
Two feet and rising. After receiving about two feet of snow this week, the Midcoast is buried. Road crews and others have been busy day and night moving the massive piles of snow. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to be cautious, especially at stop signs, as mounds of snow are blocking visibility. Here, at the intersection of Hardwick and Pension Ridge roads in Boothbay, the stop sign is just barely visible as the snow wound down on Monday afternoon. More snow was due to arrive Wednesday night into Thursday morning. STEVE EDWARDS/Boothbay Register
