Wiscasset Ford general sales manager Chris Lefebvre on June 20 presents a $1,682 check to Vanessa Dunn, president of Wiscasset Middle High School’s high school student council. The check, resulting from a Drive 4UR School fundraiser, will benefit the student council’s charity work, WMHS technology coordinator-student council adviser Deb Pooler said. Edgecomb Eddy School recently held a fundraiser to purchase playground equipment. Jameson Brooks is a kindergartner who has a rare brain and spinal cancer. Easy Access playground equipment is needed to help him with his independence and mobility. At the Garden Club Federation of Maine annual meeting, installation and awards luncheon at Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport June 21, the Garden Club of Wiscasset received a certificate of Participation for Outstanding work with School Gardening and a Club of Distinction Award with 200-300 points. The Garden Club of Wiscasset is very pleased to have been the recipient of the Historic restoration award. It is a beautiful, engraved pitcher. The award is the Longfellow Pitcher for Preservation of Beauty-Historic Preservation Project.
