Good economic (and other) vibes
Wiscasset was already on a roll this fall, with Town Manager Dennis Simmons's getting a leadership award from his peers statewide and Wiscasset Elementary School's Becky Hallowell's being named Maine teacher of the year. But how about the town's now having scored aid toward the next lives of its defunct industrial sites?
And this week, we tell about one Route One business, Sweetz & More, going strong and a new one, Charm Thai, being ready to open as soon as it gets the nods it needs. Monday, that moved closer to fruition with the planning board.
That's probably about it, right? That's a lot of good things to happen in one Maine town in a short time.
Then you may not have seen the pics Churchill Street's Cheryl Kaplan shared with us of her very festive yard this Halloween week. Kaplan said a lot of residents have been coming by to see the displays.
The town that has been thoroughly enjoying candidate signs of its pets, in a Water Street display and elsewhere, once again is showing its creative, funny side.
Thank you, Wiscasset, for being a great Maine town to cover. Aside from most of the government stories and some other content about official things, much of our content depends or largely depends on people's willingness to share, whether about their decorating or business pursuits.
We really cannot cover this town without you. And we wouldn't really want to.
