Gregory J. Parker Jr.
Gregory Jerome Parker Jr., 36, died unexpectedly March 28, 2018 at his home in North Lauderdale, Florida.
Born in Middletown, Connecticut on Nov. 15, 1981, Greg was the son of Carol (Walsh) Parker of Middletown, Connecticut and Gregory Parker Sr. of Maryland.
Greg graduated from Boothbay Region High School in Boothbay Harbor, Maine where he grew up. He went on to graduate from Porter & Chester Institute in Connecticut earning a degree in HVAC. He was employed for the past five years at Art Plumbing AC & Electric in Coral Springs, Florida, and was previously employed at J P Kempf in Connecticut.
Greg was a talented athlete, creative both in writing and art, and an avid fisherman.
Besides his parents, Greg is survived by his sister, Stephanie Parker Nelson, and his nephew, Edward Nelson III, both of North Lauderdale, Florida. He is also survived by his daughter, Gabriella Taylor of Woolwich, Maine. He leaves behind his half-brother Andre Johnson of Maryland, and his half-sister, Audrey Sewall of Maine.
Greg was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Ruth Walsh, and leaves his paternal grandparents, Richard and Pearl Parker of Maryland. Greg also leaves behind extended family including Cindy Snow, Nancy Bromley, and Rick Walsh Jr., and many treasured friends.
Greg was an avid animal lover, often rescuing at-risk animals. He leaves behind his two cats, Peppa and Jordan. Donations may be made to your local humane society in Greg’s name.
A graveside service was held for friends and family on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Lake View Cemetery in East Hampton, Connecticut, followed by a celebration of Greg’s life at the Elks Club in Middletown, Connecticut.
