‘Gupcaster’ coming to OBD Williams-Fossett Vintage Car Show
“It’s our tenth-anniversary show,” said OBD Williams-Fossett Vintage Car Show” founder Jeff Friedman, “so we wanted to do something special. We are pleased to announce that the vintage show is adding live entertainment this year, when the “Golden Gup” and his “Gupcaster” roll into the festivities for the first time.”
Gup Gascoigne has been a mobile DJ for over 45 years, specializing in dance music from the Swing era through the early 1960’s. His family has lived on the River Road in Edgecomb since the early 1930’s. His grandmother, Myrtle Gascoigne, owned and operated Maine Antiques in Newcastle (now the Publick House) for decades before her passing in 1980.
Gup bought his first old car, a 1963 Cadillac convertible, as a teenager and has been an avid car collector ever since. He came up with his stage truck (a modified 1965 Ford F-100) he calls the “Gupcaster” to fill the need for convenient staging of outdoor music and announcements. “I’m really looking forward to doing your show,” Gup commented.
