Healthy Kids receives $1,800 grant
Healthy Kids recently received a $1,800 grant from the Frederic Future Fund of the Maine Community Foundation to improve the capacity of Healthy Kids in reaching a broader client base through the use of volunteers and technology. Healthy Kids will be training community members to help parenting groups and increase parenting information on its website.
“This will allow more parents to access parenting information from their homes instead of coming out to a class,” said Executive Director Leslie Livingston. “Families are so busy, but still need information.”
Healthy Kids was founded in 1985 and serves as Lincoln County's child abuse prevention council. The Maine Community Foundation, with offices in Ellsworth and Portland, works with donors and other partners to improve the quality of life for all Maine People.
