Heartwood receives theater fund grant
Maine Community Foundation (MCF) recently awarded a Maine Theater Fund grant to Heartwood Regional Theater Company for initiatives that the company is undertaking through the 2015-2016 season. The award of $4,500 will assist the company with several efforts, including hiring professionals in both the technical and performing aspects of the company, as well as outreach strategies for first time, local audience members.
“We’re very pleased as MCF continues to support theater across the state with this fund,” said Artistic Director Griff Braley, “as the overall goal at Heartwood is a continued focus on excellence, while we grow and sustain local audience for live theater. This grant will assist efforts to increase audience, community connections, and quality of experience – desired outcomes we share with MCF.”
The non-profit Heartwood Regional Theater Company was created in 2003, with a mission to promote the theater art experience in the community. Now in its 13th season, the company has produced more than 80 productions and events.
