Due to July 4 falling on a Thursday, the Help Yourself Shelf Food Pantry at St. Philip’s, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, will be open on Tuesday, July 2, 5 p.m., instead of its regularly scheduled day. People are asked to arrive early to sign in and see what is available for selection.

On Thursday, July 18, at 5 p.m., the Good Shepherd Food Mobile will make a return visit to St. Philip’s Church Help Yourself Shelf food pantry. Thanks to a generous grant, Good Shepherd has awarded two visits of its food truck to the Wiscasset church’s food pantry. This will be the second of those visits.

Anyone in need of supplemental food is encouraged to take part. Those who have not attended the Help Yourself Shelf before and who have not registered with the Shelf are encouraged to arrive early, after 4 p.m. to fill out the necessary forms and to go over the procedure before the event begins.

Weather permitting, the Foodmobile will be held outdoors; however, if the weather is inclement, participants are requested to enter through the office entrance door at 12 Hodge St., to register. Upon registering, participants, on a first-come-first-served basis, will receive numbered tickets that will determine in which group they will be able to enter the hall where the food supplied will be available for selection.
