“Hidden Figures” - The true story about three brilliant African-American women at NASA - Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe). They served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn (Glen Powell) into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

This film was voted Best Picture by the Screen Actors Guild on Jan. 29. Last screenings Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Thursday Feb. 2 at 7 p.m.

“La La Land” - Set in modern day Los Angeles, "La La Land" tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, both struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. This original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle, “La La Land" has been nominated for 14 Academy Awards. Reviewing for CineXpress, Fico Cangiano describes La La Land as "a beautiful modern homage to the classic musicals from yesteryear and a love letter to all those people struggling to follow their dreams."

"La La Land,” rated PG13, plays Friday, Feb. 3, Saturday, Feb. 4, Wednesday, Feb. 8 and Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m.

“I Capuleti e i Montecchi” - Vincenzo Bellini's 1830 opera in two acts. This is a reworking of the story of Romeo and Juliet, recorded June 2016 from a performance at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona. Starring the acclaimed Joyce DiDonato and Patrizia Ciofi, Conductor: Riccardo Frizza, Sets by Ê Vincent Lemaire, Costumes: Christian Lacroix, Lighting: Guido Levi, Chorus Master: Conxita García.

“Manchester by the Sea” - One of the season’s most highly acclaimed films. After the death of his older brother Joe (Kyle Chandler), Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck – winner of the Golden Globe for best performance by an actor) is shocked to learn that Joe has made him sole guardian of his nephew Patrick (Lucas Hedges). Taking leave of his job, Lee reluctantly returns to Manchester-by-the-Sea to care for Patrick, a spirited 16-year-old, and is forced to deal with a past that separated him from his wife Randi (Michelle Williams) and the community where he was born and raised. National Theatre Live: “Amadeus” - Music. Power. Jealousy. Lucian Msamati (Luther, Game of Thrones, NT Live: The Comedy of Errors) plays Salieri in Peter Shaffer’s iconic play, broadcast live from the National Theatre, and with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a rowdy young prodigy, arrives in Vienna, the music capital of the world – and he’s determined to make a splash. Awestruck by his genius, court composer Antonio Salieri has the power to promote his talent or destroy his name. Seized by obsessive jealousy he begins a war with Mozart, with music, and ultimately, with God. After winning multiple Olivier and Tony Awards when it had its premiere at the National Theatre in 1979, Amadeus was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film. “The Crown” - The first season comes to a close this week. In episode 9, “Assassins”: As tensions with Phillip increase, Elizabeth spends time with her old friend Porchey. Churchill's portrait is painted for his 80th birthday. In the season one finale, episode 10, “Gloriana”: Margaret and Peter are reunited, but another obstacle stands in their way. “Fences” - August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play comes to the big screen. In 1950s Pittsburgh a black garbage collector named Troy Maxson (Denzel Washington) is bitter that baseball's color barrier was only broken after his own heyday in the Negro Leagues. That bitterness leads Maxson to taking out his frustrations on his loved ones. Co-starring Viola Davis. Nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture. PG-13. The Bolshoi Ballet: “Swan Lake” - At moonlight on the banks of a mysterious lake, Prince Siegfried meets the bewitched swan-woman Odette. Completely spellbound by her beauty, he swears his faithfulness to her. However, the Prince realizes too late that Fate has another plan for him. Encore showing, 3 hours. Playing Sun Feb 5 at 1 PM.
