Hodgdon opens facility in Damariscotta
Hodgdon Shipbuilding has officially opened its operation in Damariscotta, Hodgdon Custom Tenders. It is located at 6 Angell Lane off Biscay Road.
After greatly expanding the workforce and presence in East Boothbay and elsewhere on the peninsula, Hodgdon was fortunate to find a facility immediately available in the region.
Hodgdon Custom Tenders builds custom and semi-custom tenders for the superyacht market. The tenders, which currently range in size from 8.5 meters to 12.0 meters, are typically housed aboard large (250 feet and over) motoryachts made by some of the most famous shipyards in the world.
The elegance and craftsmanship these tenders represent is a tribute to the high standard of quality maintained by Hodgdon and the excellent skills of our Maine based workforce.
Having started in 1816 during the era of clipper ships, Hodgdon is America's oldest boatbuilder. Still family owned, today this East Boothbay company has evolved into a leader in advanced composite construction while maintaining exceptional skills for world class traditional and modern interiors.
The company's divisions include high end superyacht interiors (up to 80M), custom sail and power yacht construction (up to 60M), defense contracting and custom superyacht tenders. The company currently employs over 150 employees, most of whom are skilled and highly skilled labor.
These and other contracts are putting pressure on Hodgdon to hire additional skilled labor. Hodgdon is a fifth generation family run company still located in the heart of Maine's famed Boothbay Region.
