Howard David Christian show at River Arts
River Arts in Damariscotta is announcing a solo show in the River Arts West Gallery by Damariscotta artist Howard David Christian. The “Think Spring” exhibition will run March 9-22 with an artist’s reception from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 17.
Mr. Christian began his artistic carrier at a very early age and became an accomplished realistic oil painter. His years as a “major carrier” in the ladies high fashion industry in Houston, Texas (including Saks Fifth Avenue and locally owned ladies specialty shops) interrupted his artistic endeavors.
In 2005, retirement brought him to the Texas Hill Country where he rekindled his artistic talents and began painting abstract art. After multiple art shows and exhibits it was time to fully retire and in June 2016, he moved to Damariscotta.
Mr. Christian has an excellent eye for color and combinations of color that make his abstracts stand out. He paints using acrylic media on canvas.
River Arts is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. River Arts is located at 241 U.S. Route 1 in Damariscotta.
