Humor at the Wiscasset Public Library with Wendall Kinney
The Wiscasset Public Library fall author series will conclude on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. with humorist and Maine native Wendall Kinney. Wendall will talk about his new CD, “The Bull and I.”
Kinney is a fifth generation Maine native who was born “Down East” in Washington County in the town of Danforth. He grew up on a dairy farm in Dexter, Maine where he attended N.H. Fay High School. He is a graduate of the Aroostook Central Institute in Mars Hill and has a bachelor’s degree from Norwich University in Vermont.
Kinney is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Japan and Korea. He and his wife Mona recently moved from Wiscasset to Brunswick and have two grown children. He worked at the supervisor of Shipbuilding in Bath and is retired from the Portsmouth Naval Yard in Kittery.
Kinney has been writing poetry and prose since 1990. His book of short stories “Over Home And Other Kitchen Table Tales” is based on family history. The stories about growing up in rural Maine on the CD, “The Bull and I” are all true with a bit of the Blarney added for flavor.
His book and CD will be available for purchase following the program. All programs were sponsored by Friends of the Wiscasset Public Library. They are free and open to the public.
