Hyde School hosts Maine Youth Leadership Day
On Thursday, April 3, youth from New England will be convening on the Hyde School campus in Bath for the Maine Youth Leadership Day: Leadership and Character. They will be spending the day exploring what it means to be a leader. The day will be facilitated by adults who have experience in developing personal leadership and coaching others to find it in themselves, including speaker Ed Deutschlander, author of “Be the First Believer: Leadership Life Lessons.”
Several area schools and groups already have youth representatives attending, including both Bath and Woodstock Hyde Schools, Passaquaddy Youth Council, Boothbay Student Health Advisory Group, Maine Youth Action Network, Brunswick High School, Katahdin Area Youth Group, AmeriCorps-Maine Group, and Morse High School.
Hyde faculty member Ken Grant says that day will offer the participants a “chance to explore the importance and challenges of sound moral character and the practice of leadership. We will be helping students develop a heightened sense of personal leadership and character.”
The Maine Youth Leadership Day: Youth and Character, will be held on the Hyde Bath campus at 616 High Street. The day begins at 9:30 a.m. and will go until 3 p.m. There is no fee to participate and lunch and snacks will be provided. Interested parties should contact Ken Grant at kgrant@hyde.edu or 207-522-7059.
