‘Inherit the Wind’ at The Theater Project
“Inherit the Wind” is on stage at The Theater Project through March 31. Written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee and directed by Christopher Price, this electrifying production is as timely now as it was 60 years ago.
The 1925 Scopes “Monkey” Trial is the centerpiece of the story, spotlighting the debate between creationism and evolution with political, cultural and theological themes running deeply through this bold, exciting courtroom drama.
Friends of Seeking Civility, a local grassroots group, is proud to be sponsoring this show: they strive to promote civil discourse in our community, believing that shared values and beliefs fundamentally unite us all. Their primary goal is to promote and support events in our area that provide opportunities to examine and discuss current issues. The Theater Project is thrilled to welcome them as this show’s underwriter.
Performance times are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Talk Back Sessions with director Christopher Price and cast will be featured directly after the Sunday matinée performances on March 17 and 24.
Regular tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, $10 for children (12 and under; kids under 2 are free as long as they sit on a patron’s lap); top level seating in the theater is always Pay-What-You-Want. Tickets are available anytime at theaterproject.com or by calling the box office at 207-729-8584.
