Wiscasset School Committee
Interim super named tonight
Thu, 01/30/2014 - 9:00am
The Wiscasset School Committee plans to pick an interim superintendent tonight, Jan. 30. A vote on the selection is on the agenda for tonight’s meeting that starts at 6 p.m., in the library of Wiscasset High School.
The pick comes just over three weeks after the committee was elected, and five months from when the town leaves Regional School Unit 12 and opens its own school department.
Committee members and others have highlighted the importance of the temp hire for a lot of the work involved in both creating the department and drafting its first-year budget.
The committee has held closed-door interviews with multiple candidates. Former Wiscasset superintendent Wayne Dorr is the only candidate the committee has named publicly.
