It’s the holiday season
Public and private events celebrating the holiday season are beginning this week – see public listings in our calendar, ads and articles. There are Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas lights being turned on and much more. If you don’t see your event listed, please let us know and we will at least get it on our award-winning websites.
The inevitable will soon happen – snow – so when it does, please be safe when going to and from the events.
We hope everyone will enjoy the efforts of businesses and individuals decorating and holding events to celebrate the season. Thank them and take part.
There are many more events than when I was a kid growing up here. All I remember is Santa (now he brings the Mrs. and many friends) riding into town on a fire truck and him greeting kids at various locations. Now several groups hold lots of activities – they bring out the spirit of the season.
On our “to-do list” is to cover several of the events so be on the lookout for coverage either online or in the newspaper (or both). We welcome new full-time reporter Isabelle Curtis who will cover some of the events along with other reporters.
That’s it for now. Enjoy the festivities over the next month or so!
