Joan A. Meuse
Joan Anne Meuse, 68, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away on Feb. 5, 2022, at her home after a tough battle with cancer.
Joan was born on Sept. 30, 1953, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Joan is survived by her mother, Agnes F. Coleman of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and her sister, Janet A. Roe (John) of Grey Eagle, Minnesota.
Joan was predeceased by her son, Jason M. Meuse, who died at age 11 as well as her father, Joseph L. Deresky.
Joan will be sorely missed by all who knew her, which included a wide circle of friends, neighbors, and fellow dog lovers. Joan had a lifelong love affair with dogs, particularly Siberian huskies, and could always be seen walking, or being walked by her huskies.
She was a good friend to many and always had a pot of coffee and some sweets to go with a very well-practiced “listening ear.” Besides being a voracious reader and an avid Boston Bruins lover, her next passion was cooking and baking for the community. Joan has lived in the Boothbay area for over 20 years.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at the K. P. Hall on Lakeside Drive, Boothbay Harbor on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. Details will also be posted on the Facebook page of Lee Abbott.
