John A. Roe Jr., 69, of Federal Street, Wiscasset died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Chelsea, Mass., on March 2, 1944 the son of John A. and Ann O. (Heath) Roe Sr. He graduated from Hamden Academy, Worcester Academy Prep School and from Husson College with a business degree.  

He was employed as a truck driver for Yarmouth Lumber in Gray for several years, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the North Maine woods.

He was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline (Roe) Lloyd, parents and stepmother Kay Roe, and by his dog and friend, Amos.

   He is survived by one son, John F. Roe of Bridgton; one daughter, Mary A. MacElman and her husband Tom of Wiscasset; one brother-in-law, Alex Lloyd of Connecticut; and nieces Erin and Andrea, and nephews John, David and Peter.
