St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset will hold a joint service of prayer and penitence on Ash Wednesday, March 6, in St. Philip’s Parish Hall on Hodge Street in Wiscasset. The service co-led by Rev. Marcia Richardson and Rev Josh Fitterling will take place at 6 p.m. Rev. Fitterling will be preaching.

Those present will participate in the moving ancient ceremony of the imposition of ashes as they reflect on the humbling word of God: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
