Julia Peters of Healing Touch Massage joins Sea Glass Spa
Julia Peters is a licensed massage therapist who has been working in the field for nine years. She was formerly at The First Bank working as a customer service representative. Peters’ business, Healing Touch Massage, shares a space at The Sea Glass Spa with owner Sarah Hodgdon, a licensed aestheticism, and Lorri Higgins, a licensed massage therapist with Dragonfly massage. The spa is located at 921 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.
“The three of us work very well together, and I am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to do what I really love,” Peters said.
Peters has always dreamed of owning her own business since she graduated from the Denver School of Massage in 2005. She first worked in a Colorado chiropractic office performing therapeutic and injury techniques, and teaching range of motion exercises and stretches to prevent injury. She enjoys the spa setting where you can relax, unwind and rejuvenate your mind and body.
“I strive on giving my clients an opportunity to get away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life and relax, relieving some of the mental and physical fatigue that we all experience,” she said.
Peters is married to Bryan Peters of Boothbay and they are parents to an outgoing 1-year-old boy, Landyn. She also has two wonderful stepchildren, Marissa Peters, 11, and Dylan Peters, 15.
“My dream would not have been possible without my loving and understanding husband and the support of all my friends and family. It was a huge leap of faith to go out on my own but I can honestly say I love what I do,” said Peters.
