Kerr+Jones Gallery in East Boothbay opens for its 2024 summer season on Thursday, June 6. Hours are Wednesday - Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery features fine art and craft as well as ‘uncommon goods’ displayed in a restored 1860s’ barn in the heart of East Boothbay’s historic maritime district. Surrounded by outdoor sculptures and a tranquil summer garden, the gallery has a stress-free ambience that is both relaxing and inspiring.

The Gallery’s stellar roster includes paintings and prints of newly represented fine artists Molly Brown, Kathleen Buchanan, Heidi Daub, Anna Dennis Dibble, Ellen Granter, and Sarah Wilde. Returning to the gallery are Maine artists Susan Bartlett Rice, MJ Benson, Scout Dunbar, Fraas/Slade, Gail Page, Andrea Peters, and David Witbeck (who lives in Rhode Island but his heart is in Maine). Works by metalsmith Scott Tindall and stone sculptor Bill Royall grace the gardens. 

Among the extraordinary ceramic artists are works by Tim Christensen, Mimi Olins (Softset Ceramics), Rebecca May Verrill, Lansing Wagner and Soozie Large. Also featured are masterful woodworks by John Rodgers, Dona Dalton and Paul Sumner as well as glass decoupage by Diana Kerr. Fine jewelry by Kate Jones (Ursa Major), and Kathleen Jones will also be returning for the 2024 season.

The gallery’s  textiles collection includes vibrant works from Betsy Leighton’s Bowerbird Studio. In support of international artisans, Kerr+Jones also offers collectible, vintage Moroccan rugs as well as fair trade textile creations by Ubuntu of Kenya.  

Coming up: On Friday, July 5 Kerr+Jones will host their first summer reception of the season which will feature the color drenched landscape paintings of Walpole artist Susan Bartlett Rice and the wildly expressive abstract canvases of South Portland artist MJ Benson. On Thursday, Aug. 1, the gallery is pleased to announce that the wondrous works of Anna Dibble and Gail Page will take center stage. Both receptions will be held from 4 to 6 p.m.
