Latest on last month’s Route 1, Wiscasset fatal
The accident reconstruction of the June 3 crash on Bath Road, Wiscasset that claimed the life of Thomas Sikes, 71, of Edgecomb has been completed. The reconstruction shows speed and distracted driving as causes of the crash.
The reconstruction was completed by the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine State Police.
Laughlynn Bragg, 26, of Wiscasset was traveling south on Bath Road allegedly 60 mph in a posted 45 mph zone and had become distracted just prior to the crash. Bragg traveled into the northbound lane hitting Sikes’ vehicle head on.
The investigation has been forwarded to Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office for review.
