Lawrence C. “Lonnie” Lynch III of Wiscasset died Jan. 6, 2017.  

He was born in Bangor on Nov. 24, 1959, the son of Lawrence C. and Simone (Hayden) Lynch Jr.

He graduated from Piscataquis Community High School in 1978. He completed a certificate program in welding in Euclid, Ohio and then went on to work at Bath Iron Works as a welder and planner for more than 35 years. 

Lonnie married Kim Pushor on June 21, 1980. They raised a family of three boys. Lonnie was active in their lives serving as a Cub Scout leader, basketball, soccer and T-ball coach. Lonnie taught his boys how to hunt and fish at the camp at Barnard where they spent countless family weekends.

He was a member of the K. I. Riders in Brownsville Junction and the Seboeis Stream Camp Association. 

Lonnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hiking, running, mountain biking and especially spending time with family and friends at the camps in Barnard, on Wilson Pond and Seboeis.

Lonnie loved storytelling and listening to others’ stories around the campfire, a trait he inherited from his grandfather, Guy Hayden. He was known for his camp cooking, "hollow log campfires" and as "Mayor of Barnard."

Lonnie was predeceased by his mother, Simone Lynch, and his long time girlfriend, Lisa Seabrooks.

He is survived by his father, Lawrence Lynch Jr. of Rockland; three sons, Brian Lynch of Lincolnville, Kirk Lynch and his wife Laura of Alna, and Kevin Lynch of Wiscasset; one stepdaughter, Christie Fait and her husband Tyson of Bath; one stepson, Sean Seabrooks of Charleston, South Carolina; one sister, Lori Lundin of England; a grandson, Eben of Alna; one nephew, Jeremy "Jez" of England; and his former wife, Kim Lynch of Wiscasset.      

Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Daigle Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Maine Maritime Museum on Washington Street in Bath.
