Lecture on the Art of Andrew Wyeth July 12
Join Victoria Browning Wyeth, the only grandchild of iconic artist Andrew Wyeth, for an engaging lecture on the work of her grandfather on Wednesday, July 12 at Boothbay Harbor’s Opera House.
Victoria's lecture, "I Paint My Life," will examine some of the most famous works by Andrew Wyeth and discuss subject matter, context, technique, and family stories behind the paintings. She will provide a rare insider’s view of the world of Wyeth, and his relationship to the coast of Maine.
Ms. Wyeth will intersperse her discussions of subject matter and technique with direct quotes from her from her grandfather. She also plans to add many personal memories and family stories and will be celebrating the memory of his birthday, July 12.
The lecture and presentation will be followed by a meet and greet reception with speaker Victoria Wyeth. Advance discounted tickets are $15 and available directly from the box office at 86 Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor or by calling 207-633-5159. Regular tickets are $20 and are available online at boothbayoperahouse.com. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door beginning at 3:30 pm. The presentation begins at 4 p.m.
