LincolnHealth reports 57 new COVID-19 cases for week of Feb. 14
LincolnHealth reported 57 new COVID-19 cases from 405 tests for the week of Feb. 14. Tests and positive cases continue on a downward trend from the peak of the pandemic in late December and early January when weekly test numbers were consistently over 1,000 and the average positive cases over 250.
While Damariscotta’s Miles Campus beds were full as of Feb. 22, COVID-19 hospitalization rates have fallen and, as a result, bed availability is growing throughout the MaineHealth system, said LincolnHealth’s John Martins.
“At this point, things are moving in a very positive direction in Lincoln County and across the state of Maine … About a month ago, there were 119 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across the system and as of last Thursday, that number had fallen to 82.”
LincolnHealth is in the process of lowering visitor restrictions, said Martins. LincolnHealth will post changes on its website once details are finalized, he said. Boosters and first and second vaccine rounds are still available at the Watson Center 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
