Local artists on display at Atlantic Motorcar
Spring is just around the corner and Atlantic Motor Car (AMC) is welcoming a fresh exhibit on the walls featuring two local Maine artists through June. We are pleased to introduce Irene Rothe and Di Ta Ondek and invite the public to stop in during business hours and see their eye catching and delightful pieces.
Watercolorist Irene Rothe has been painting most of her adult life. Since moving to Maine in 1973 the varied natural landscape of her surroundings inspires her. As well as receiving numerous awards, Rothe has displayed her work at various venues including the South Portland Art Show, the Portland Sidewalk Show and the L-A College Atrium Gallery.
A self described “creative initiator,” Di Ta Ondek has a varied professional expression as a Web developer, painter and poet. Artistically she utilizes various mediums (watercolor & acrylic paintings, Polaroid and digital photography). The current exhibit at AMC features a series of vintage and abandoned vehicles in acrylics. For more on Ondek, visit www.dita.org.
AMC offers art space for artists creating with watercolor, print, acrylic, mixed media and/or print mediums. No commission or hanging fee is charged; the space is donated as a service and enrichment to the local art community and the community at large. Stop in during business hours and browse their wonderful works in the waiting room and halls. The shop hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
