Lorraine Hope Gray, wife of late John Owen Gray, died Jan. 12, 2017.

She was born Jan. 16, 1928 on Southport Island.

She is remembered and leaves behind two daughters, Martha Gray Little and Alice Elizabeth Gray. Her legacy includes three grandsons, James Gilbert Bennett, Timothy John Bennett and Paul Gray Jones; six great-grandchildren, James Singleton Bennett, Sidney Elizabeth Bell, Julius Smiles Bennett, Journey Love Bennett, Azalea Grace Bennett and Caroline Faith Bennett; and two great-great-grandsons, James Nickolas Bennett and Owen Mirum Bell.

Apart from her lineage, her legacy also includes, civility, citizenship, kindness, and love to all those she knew. Lorraine will be missed and remembered by those who knew and loved her. 

Services will be held at graveside in Twin Coves Cemetery on Southport Island on Jan. 20 at 2 p.m.
