Lots of new children's books available
The Children’s Room of the Wiscasset Public Library is offering many opportunities to the area young readers this summer. Along with a full Summer Reading Program, the Children’s Room is pleased to be able to offer a great selection of 78 new books that recently arrived.
These books came through the Libri Foundation’s Books for Children Grant that was awarded earlier this year and a donation from The Friends of the Library. This year the Libri Foundation also included $350 worth of math and science books through a donation from Hal Berenson and Laura Ackerman.
The Children’s Room will hold a “Be the First” to sign-out a new book event on Wednesday afternoon, July 10 at 3 p.m. Most of these 78 books are non-fiction, but included are some picture books and chapter books.
Topics include history, space, sports, math, biographies, fairy tales and folktales. These books should engage and encourage children of all ages to read about areas of their special interest.
The public is invited to this Children’s Room celebration. These books are a wonderful addition to the collection.
