Maine Arts Commission holds cultural summits
The Maine Arts Commission has been engaging constituents across the state for the past several months and we are now ready to reveal what we have been hearing.
Three cultural summits will be held across the state on March 17, 18 and 19 so that you can discover what we have heard and how we have shaped that information into a set of priorities to advance arts and culture throughout the state and into the future.
Those who plan to attend should notify the commission no later than March 6.
Summit information: Tuesday, March 17: 9 a.m. to noon, Hannaford Hall, University of Southern Maine, Portland; Wednesday, March 18, 1 to 4 p.m., Hauck Auditorium, University of Maine, Orono; Thursday, March 19, 10 a.m. to noon, Allagash Room at Campus Center, University of Maine, Presque Isle.
More than 6,000 people from across the state have provided input to this process — an indication of how committed and interested Maine people are with regard to arts and culture.
Best practices in cultural development work going on around the state and the nation will also be discussed.
