Mark G. Leeman
Mark Giles Leeman, 82, of Boothbay Harbor, Maine passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2021 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, Maine.
Mark was born on Jan. 10, 1939 to Edith H. Giles and Ellsworth “Bossie” Leeman. He was raised to be a kind and generous man, and that he was.
He attended local schools and graduated from BRHS in 1958, and furthered his education at SMVTI graduating in 1959.
Mark worked in Hudson, New Hampshire for a while when he was young, but returned to Boothbay Harbor where he worked for the Boothbay Harbor Water District, Boothbay Harbor Sewer District and Don Leavitt Excavation. He completed his working career at Bath Iron Works where he retired in 2006.
Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to his camp with his wife Georgia at First Roach Pond where they met many new friends. He was an avid Red Sox fan, win or lose.
Mark was predeceased by his parents, his beloved aunt Hazel Giles Christianson, stepson Lester A. Barter Jr. and good friend Steve Reny.
Mark is survived by, his wife Georgia Blackman Barter of 26 years; his three sons, Christopher (Rachel) Leeman, Garret and companion Wendy, Brett and companion Jaimie Mansfield; brother, Robert (Nancy) Leeman; his beloved grandchildren, Hannah Leeman and Derek Joannides, Stephanie Leeman and Phil Wells. Meghan Leeman and Cassidy Leeman; nephews Joshua and Travis; three stepchildren, Dianne (Barry) Snow, Bette (Thomas) Landry, and Michael (Kimberly) Barter; stepgranddaughters, Brittany and Winona; stepgrandson, Garreth Burnham; his close friends Mike Wood and Mark Johnson; and many wonderful friends will also feel his loss.
